About
Maria Ritt, originally from Kazakhstan, is a political scientist, sociologist, and peace and conflict researcher who enjoys exploring social conditions. Her main interest lies at the intersection of social psychology, politics, and education. She constantly questions social, political, and economic norms and structures as well as interpersonal relationships in a critical and discrimination-sensitive manner. Nonviolent communication, power-critical education, languages, dance, and photography play an important role in her life. She has been working on the “Nacht(sch)lichter*innen” project for two years and considers this work to be crucial, not only in terms of the existing challenges in the community, but also in terms of strengthening social cohesion in general.
