María Giaever López

María Giaever holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Westminster, where she explored anticolonial resistance practices through electronic dance music cultures. She has researched DIY spaces and informal EDMC nightlife practices in Southern Europe while participating in them with Sot A Terra, a rave feminist collective. Sot A Terra balances direct intervention in DIY parties and research, pushing the boundaries between knowledge production and lived experiences. María is currently working at Observatorio Noctámbul@s (FSC), researching sexual violence in nightlife and training professionals on gender perspectives and harm reduction. She is an associate member at the Centre for Social Justice Research at the University of Westminster.
