Jyrki Nummisto is a nighttime researcher, independent documentarist and Executive director of the finnish nighttime advocacy organization, Nightshift Finland. As a researcher and nighttime advocate Jyrki Nummisto is investigating the possibilities and challenges of AI in inclusive nightlife development. With a specific focus on queer communities Jyrki is one of the first researchers in the world to theorize and combine AI and nightlife to do radical participatory imaginaries on what an inclusive and safer nightlife in urban areas would look like. Using participatory and speculative design metholodologies, queer theory and community-based approaches Jyrki Aims to “see beyond” the present situation towards the club culture of the future. The research is also tied closely to his advocacy work running the first nighttime advocacy association in Finland.
