Culture Health & Prevention

// Helsinki Case

In his presentation Jyrki explains the theoretical background of his research and portrays the foundations on what is meant by queering, radical imaginaries and speculative design interventions. The research aims to open unexplored pathways to the future of nightlife and how artificial intelligence could be used in a way that counteracts cultural extractivism in building more sustainable and inclusive nightlife. After the presentation, Jyrki is open for Q&A as well as gathering possible data for preliminary investigations.

// Vienna Case

Free Space is a project that emerged from a focus group by the Vienna Club Commission.

In recent years, self-organized club cultural events in public spaces have gained significant importance. These events are characterized by a non-profit, consumption-(pressure)-free, and music-centered use of public space, allowing young adults to independently and accessibly participate in and shape the city’s cultural landscape.

In collaboration with the City of Vienna and an incredible number of highly motivated actors from the club culture scene, a framework was created to enable legal raves in public space on seven occasions.

On the panel, the development of the project and its implementation process will be presented.
