Drug Checking – from early detection to a public health action plan

Innovative approaches, like participatory health communication, are vital. By combining drug checking data with community-driven strategies, we can move from simple risk detection to a dynamic, collective public health response.

Health & Prevention

Drug Checking services also provide crucial public health surveillance, enabling the early detection of dangerous new substances (like the synthetic opioids, nitazenes). Effective management of these warnings requires a comprehensive national preparedness plan. This framework must clearly define the roles of government, laboratories, and harm reduction organizations, and include people who use drugs in a coordinated response.
